Version differences and account presentation are the basis of a reliable analysis.
Consider MT4 and MT5 separately.
MetaQuotes dates the introduction of MT4 to 2005 and MT5 to 2010. MT5 is described as a multi asset platform. Historical MT4 documents may therefore not be transferred to MT5 without verification.

For historical MT4 server technology, MQL4 extensions and concrete builds, a separate version assignment is required. An MT4 plugin receipt does not prove an MT5 function.
MT5
The technical range of functions includes, among other things, analysis, trading and automation. Which instruments, account models and services are actually available must be checked on the respective account.
Order, deal and position are different objects.
The MT5 documentation separates trade order, execution and held position. An order can generate several executions. In the netting model, a combined position per instrument is maintained; in the hedging model, there may be several positions, including opposite directions.
[MT5]This account presentation first concerns the customer account. It does not describe the external hedge of the broker. Report evaluation must also connect the objects correctly: order number is not automatically trade number, and payment movements are not a trade result.
What a report shows – and what it lacks.
History exports help to reconstruct executed transactions, positions and account movements. For execution investigations, additional requests, rejections, requotes, journal and suitable time stamps are required. Broker-side decision-making rules are not readable from an equity curve alone.
Record original file, export format, platform, build, server time, account model, currency and time period considered. File extension and actual content must match.
This wiki version does not carry out a report import. It explains the data requirements; analyses of specific reports require a separate work process.
